Frequently asked questions
Can I zip or unzip files without installing WinRAR or 7-Zip?
Yes — the archive is built (or unpacked) by your browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing is uploaded. It works the same on a locked-down office machine or a Chromebook where you can't install software.
How can it find duplicate files without uploading them?
Each file's contents are hashed on your device, and only those fingerprints are compared — two files with the same hash are byte-for-byte identical. Nothing about the files, including the hashes, is sent anywhere.
Is there a limit on archive size?
No quota — the ceiling is your device's memory, because the work happens on your machine rather than a server. Very large archives on a low-RAM phone can be slow; a laptop handles them comfortably.
