Passport size photo in inches: 1.38 × 1.77
The Indian passport photo is officially specified in centimetres — 3.5 × 4.5 cm — which converts to 1.38 × 1.77 inches. There is no separate inches spec; the inches figure is that conversion.

Print size or upload size — which one you need
Watch for the wrong country's number: the 2 × 2 inch square you may see quoted is the US passport format (the tool has a preset for it), not India's. An Indian application wants the 3.5 × 4.5 cm (1.38 × 1.77 in) rectangle quoted below.
